So a lot happened, I'll start with the most recent and work my way back:
40k Tourney in Canada is 1500 points, Da Boot Boyz will attend... Why are they called Da bootz? Well, they walk, run, crawl, jump, etc... toward the enemy - that's right, an army made up of Boyz before Toyz!
Big Mek - KFF, Burna, Boss Pole
15 x Lootas
120 x Boyz (haven't decided breakdown of Sluggas vs. shoota, but it will either be 60/60 or 90 Shootas/30 Sluggas) - Each squad has Max Rokitz (3x per squad), and Nobz w/ PK, Bosspole
3 x Kanz with Rokitz and Riggers
1500 points on the dot... Let's see them kill that many Boyz!
On the Fantasy Front:
The Dawi finished their Tourney in 6th out of 14... Not Bad! Without getting into any glorious detail
Game 1 vs Baltimore GT Champ w/ Dark Elves - Can be summarized by a 'Misfire' of every warmachine and an anvil roll of a '1' and a '1' - well there goes 400 something points... Bad Loss
Game 2 vs Rules Guy w/ High Elves - Can be summarized by everything but his Pheonix guard dead by turn 4 and the Dawi took 3 of 4 Table Quarters, yes I moved, and it was a glorious victory!
Game 3 vs some Guy and all mounted Chaos Mortals - Meh, I hate his list and the fact that it was close until my lst turn where an organ Gun Misfired at point blank vs. knights - He had 3 Wizards (2 Tz 1 Nurg), and 2 units of knights (1 Krn 1 Slnsh), all different Marks to me is like min maxing marines, I mean c'mon, your army is already great, do you really need to add the overkill? The good news, the loss I took wasn't a bad one, the bad news, it was still a loss.
If I wanted to 'win out' I would have taken my Star Dragon Asur, I wanted to play, I took Dawi! In conclusion, I met all of my goals, get a win, finish top 10, finish top 1/2. It was a good time.
In the pipe:
Obviously the 40K Orks - many of the boyz will be stenciled as they were Jon's Adeptacon Orks... Here's a hint, primed white, skin painted by Drew, then Horrifically thrown into 'Honey Dew' Dip to look painted... It's bad and requires a basecoat, a drybrush, and a wash to undo this... Instead of killing my next few months doing this to 120 Boyz + Lootaz + Nobz, I will spray on symbolz of Orkiness to tell the squads apart... This saddens me.
Escalation Fantasy: An escalation Tourney has been announced starting in 2 weeks, I'm building up Asur - should be fun, and then again, another army comes into my house... ::Cries::

The Old Grumbler
2250 Game vs. Drew as he decided to bring me my army tonight (Same Lists as below, when Drew posts pics I'll take them for my site as well)... (He forgot to paint 3 crew, Anvil, and Organ Gun)
Here are the highlights:
Turn 1, Anvil Kills Woe's dark peg
Turn 2, Anvil miscast and becomes inactive for 1 turn
Turn 3, Grudge Thrower Kills cold one chariot
Turn 4, Anvil kills Drew's assassin and mage (Anvil gains the MVP Spot, Runelord gains the Name Euzek), Organ gun kills a unit of corsairs containing Sameth, I remember to bring my miners in
Turn 5, Organ Gun decides to blow up, anvil fails to wound a single crossbow elf, bolt throwers fail to do anything (I question why I take them, people fear them, they suck), gyro killed after 3 turns of failing to kill 2 bolt thrower elves it goes down, 6 Miner attacks fail to kill any bolt thrower elfs
Turn 6, (My army gains fluff in a bad way) Hammerers hold vs. a charriot and corsairs (The Hammerer Champ is now promoted to my Army BSB Gaining a name Hozek), Miners for a second turn fail to kill a single f*cking elf on 6 attacks (They are now put under the inspired leadership of Wongen), Longbeards face shooting from two crossbow units and a unit of shades, 1/2 die, my (then) current BSB inspires a great LD roll of 11 (are you f*cking kidding), they run off the board (this cost me the game, I went from a win to a draw, and a cheap one at that), the defamed, dishonored, and disgraced former BSB now gains a name Rugrom and he is to enjoy the rest of his days as my army's Slayer (He will be sent to his death in attempts to undue the insult displayed on this night).
Thoughts:
Bolt Throwers - I must be using them wrong, every game, they serve as a distraction at best, I say, Miss, miss, hit oh, I fail to wound (C-)
Organ Gun - Massive killing power, it misfired at the wrong time (B)
Miners - 6 Great Weapons fail to kill 1 Bolt Thrower Crewman (F)
Gyro - Steamed and killed 1 Bolt thrower crew, but distracted it and a unit of shades for 3 turns (B)
Grudge Thrower - Drew a lot of fire, crushed some elves and killed a chariot (A-)
Hammerers - Held off a charriot and a squad for 2 turns, and if given a 3rd turn would have won combat if supported (A)
Quarrelers - Shot, distracted, killed minimal troops, but they made executioners and Woe chase off the board... (B-)
Warriors - Did little, guarded a flank, don't expect them to do much... (B)
Longbeards - On turn 6 they drew more fire than every other unit combined all game. They failed by not making saves, not making LD, not making themselves worth anything except magnets for tons of fire (C, only reason not an F here is because of the.....)
BSB - (Now Slayer) Failed the only f*cking LD check he HADDDDDD TO MAKE TO WIN. His failure along with the miners cost this game PERIOD ('like the Remainder' - Lil Wayne) This Dwarf earned shame, shame that will only be forgiven ina glorious bloody death, he will charge any vampire, greenskin, elf, man, dragon, beast, spawn of chaos, anything) to lament for this - if there were a grade less than F he'd earn it, in fact, it is so horrible, this will be the only model in my army not to get a grade.
Slayer - Protected the Anvil (Worth the 50 points), nothing came close, killed a harpy (yes 1 - it got close), will be more active now that it has real fluff (B)
Anvil - Failed once, didn't die (did all I could ask except for 1 failed attempt, but made up for it by killing a mage and assassin in one turn), earned VP while staying alive (A+)
The difference between a D and a W, one LD roll of 11, failure of miners to kill two crewmen, failure of bolthrowers to kill anything.
The Dwarfs Held the pass, but failed to drive those hated elves out of our lands.

Color The Little People
So the tourney is this Saturday, and I must say - I failed myself. Due to extra hours at my job M-F, weekends and Tues. with my girl (this is time well spent and I would never give it up to paint, she wants to paint with me - more on that later), the Super Bowl (which wasted a Sunday), cold weather and the constant snowfall (which messes with the primer and means I have to go out and shovel instead of paint); I managed to get the hammerers, 2 bolt throwers, and the gyro done on my own. We assembled and had an emergency painting session this weekend. Drew who's help I didn't want to have to use was required... While he was at my house, he finished 2 units on his own (warriors and quarrelers). He offered to finish the army over the week so I will have a well painted (complete) army for this weekend's tourney as I have limited time to paint due to the reasons listed above...
Thanks Drew, I suck and you are the best.
So on this painting topic, I have until April to get ready for a 40k tourney in Canada... I'm going with the Orks, so I have to paint them... Did I mention that my army is 180 Boyz? More on them in future posts. What I really wanted to say is that my girl wants to paint, so this Sunday I will paint a High Elf Lord on Foot and she will paint a High Elf (Female) Mage on foot. I picked a blister up containing these models from Complete for $6 and I'm happy, 1 Cause it was only $6, 2 I need both these minis in case their dragons get killed (my high elf army has a lord on a star dragon and a dragon mage on a sun dragon), 3 I found a female model that I will use that my girl can paint, and 4 she is painting.
That's all for now, I'll post pics of the Dwarfs when I get them from Drew, the orks when I start them, and the elf characters when they are done.

Lazy Sunday, Nahhhhhh
So my weekend recap:
Friday - Drinking until 3 AM in NYC, driver everyone home, get myself home around 5am.
Saturday - Sleep until 12:30pm, went to Frank's (gedda air' cut), ate, passed out for 5 hours, woke up said oh shit I wasted Saturday, saw the new Underworld (hey I like the story), come home and sleep.
Sunday - As the tourney is on the 7th, that gives me all this week, next weekend, and that week before the big day, I'm not wasting any more time! I primed 21 warriors, 21 longbeards, 10 miners, 10 quarrelers, The Anvil, Runelord, BSB, Slayer, an Organ Gun, and the countless crewmen for the dwarf war machines!
Task for this week (Mon - Fri), touch up Hammerers, touch up Grudge thrower, paint crews, the organ gun, and at least 30 troops.
After work, this is going to suck, but it needs to be done.

Update on Standing Armies
Fantasy:
Ogres - Drew needs to move his ass on the Gnoblars and details... This is my backup for a tourney, they need to be completed ASAP
Dwarfs - I need to move my ass on painting, 2 weeks and 2 days to the tourney and I have little to show in the way of completed works, and I'm still waiting for my BSB to come in the mail!
Empire - Ebay, oh, so soon you will be gone! Posting them on there once things calm down a little (done painting Dwarfs, etc...)
40K:
Eldar - Painted, done, ready to be played... Or sold for a profit! Will be sold on ebay (andf since it's painted, oh the money will flow!!). Only issue is (as I stated before) the army is in 2 different color schemes. Solution - sell them as 2 seperate lots 1 at a time! I'll sell the first round, see what price I can fetch for it, then IFF I like the money, I'll put the 2nd Lot (aka Drew's old Eldar, now Mine) on there, worst case (and probable) I will keep the 1,000 points of Drew's and use that when / if I play 40K until I get my Orks on the ball.
Marines - ?? - Apparently after 3 years, Ray K. is deciding to give my old marine army back to me... Painted to the highest standard, they too will wander into the ebay circut once the eldar is sold (I don't want to de-value one army by placing a second or third one up at the same time). I dislike Marines and all the fanboy love they get, not to mention the unyielding support of GW and a new Dex every x years where x< or = 3 years while other armies wait since 3rd edition for an update (about 10 or so years for Orks / Dark eldar). Everyone loves marines, so people will bid on them.
Orkz - Ahh here's the heart of my 40K desire. With the new edition of 40K, no one of my group seems to want to play. Well, I know Cash will play and stores (GW, Complete, Game Room, etc...) all favor 40K so a match won't be hard to find. I have tons of Sluggas (way to many) and not enough Shootas... Problem here, I will have to Dakka Swap and Shop or ebay sluggas and buy Shootas / Lootas. Ray K. Also has a 1,000 point Ork army he wants to off. Depending what's in it, I'll buy that and start from there... All I know is this army is going to be a horde.
IG / Sisters / Witch Hunters - Sold last night to Cash. He gets what he wanted, and I now have cash to blow on Orkz, it was a win / win.

Final List 2250 Dwarfs
So I played and won vs. Drew last night, he was playing a non-optimized Dark Elf List, the game was close and the MVP on my end was the BSB and squad of Longbeards who took out two whole squads in 1 round of CC. Close second was the Anvil which cleard out 2 bolt throwers and a unit of shades on turn 1, and provided movement for the charges. Honorable mention to the miners which supporting a unit of swamped warriors to win a flank. The Biggest failure, Grudge thrower - threw 1 rock into nothing, a second into a squad of random elves, killing 5 before the crew was assaulted by a pegasus and some hero of questionable strength. The failure co-mvp will go to a bolt thrower who missed every shot, the one hit, vs. a pegasus resulted in a '1' to wound - the crewmen were left to be killed for their lack of production. The only War Machine to perform well was an organ gun which killed 8 executioners, made them break which rendered them useless for the game.

Dwarfs: 1 month 2250 - Can it be done?
So I was informed through my cousin's blog and talking with Wong that there is a local 2250 Fantasy tourney on Feb. 7. Now I see this as an opportunity to push myself to paint up the Dwarfs that have been recently acquired... The only problem, Feb, 7 is less than 1 month away, and this would require speed painting (something that I have never done before)! I would take up to a week or so to paint 10 guys in past situations, but now, with the whip cracking, it is time to get this project moving! At 2250 I will take a list like the following:
~Runelord W/anvil - RoSpellbreaking, RoStone, RoPreservation, shield
~BSB - MRoGromril, RoPreservation, RoFurnace
~Dragon slayer
~25 Warriors FC, shield
~15 Longbeards FC, Shields, RoStoicism, RoBattle on unit
~10 Thunderers shields
~19 Hammerers FC, shield , RoCoruage on unit
~10 Slayers 1 of which is Giant slayer
~Grudge Thrower Rune of Accuracy, Rune of Penetrating
~Bolt Thrower RoBurning, RoPenetration, Engineer
~Bolt thrower RoPenetration, Engineer
~Organ Gun
~Gyrocopter
::sigh::
A lot of work, I own everything listed above but the anvil (I know it's a huge part of the list), and the slayers... **Edit to Original Post, I just went on to ebay and got an Anvil and 10 Slayers for $56, they should arrive in 2-5 Business Days**
I painted the Gyro and the 2 Bolt Throwers, and so it begins!
If I don't get this list done, at least I'll have a lot more finished than I do now - and that's what it's all about.
P.S. I also have the Ogres as a backup

The Ogres and the Lost Link
Since the wasted warrior (Drew) wanted to attribute the death of many a dark elf to his own stupidity, it was Tyrant 'Oj that will take credit for the Ogres next meal! As an FYI, he rolled bad for stupidity, but I rolled bad for magic, failing to cast 5 attempts at a 3+ spell on one turn alone!
Short report on how things went (and what I need to work on to be a better Ogre general):
"Oi them pointy ears wanted to make us slaves, so we ate 'em"
-Tyrant 'Oj
Setup was standard for me, bullet shields up front, 2 units of 3x Bulls screening the Ironguts with attached Butchers and Tyrants, and a 20x Gnoblar unit guarding the left flank of the bulls with the 2 units of 2x Leadbelchers up front ready to shoot some junk, 2 Gorgers ready to jump repeater crews, and a unit of 8x Gnoblar Trappers scouting behind a hill 12 inches away from a cold one charriot (This unit of trappers and the other 20 Gnoblars performed perfectly, more on that in a moment)
Game starts with Ogres martching and trappers throwing junk at a cold one charriot - nothing great. Turn 2 Ogres Martch, leadbelchers shoot and kill harpies, trappers squabble, I roll horrible for magic, lucky for me, Drew's charriot fails a stupidity check and cant charge my line (this is what I need to work on, the positioning of units - I managed to bottleneck myself, trappers, bulls behind them, ironguts behind them... If he would have charged, I planned to flee with trappers and counter with bulls, but I learned he could have redirected, and he would have taken a chunk of my right flank - I don't think this would have cost me the game as the bulls and guts squads on that flank did nothing all game aside from kill the charriot, 10x crossbowmen, and a repeater crew - all isolated on that flank, so eh...), 2 Gorgers also arrive ready to pounce on crossbowmen and a repeater crew... The rest of the game can be summarized by me charging gnoblars into executioners and winning combat by 1 (would have been 3, but he had hatred so rerolled and killed a few more puny gnoblars), butchers casting and leadbeltchers shooting took down executioners after the gnoblars broke, bulls charging a charriot and killing it over 2 turns, his lord and the attached holding up a unit of ironguts with a butcher for 2 turns, eventually my tyrant came in and crushed enough to win on static CR... Nothing spectacular, just enough for a win.
I need to work on:
Movement and positioning, if Drew would have had tons of fast cal I would have been in trouble. This seems to be the most glaring problem that I had. Then I need to learn when to declare challanges with my Tyrant, Jon pointed out to me on the last turn to 'Tenderize' with the Tyrant, and even if he accepted with his unit champ, not the lord, I'd overkill the champ enough to win by CR...
I need to know these things on my own in order to beat the others...
For the missing link, my girlfriend found my usb link for my cam so I can put pics up again woo hoo! Dwarfs will be posted up soon.

Where do I put things around here...?
So I did a lot of work and have nothing to show for it... What do I mean, well two things, first I spent some time on Sunday calming down from the holiday shopping, long lines, traffic, rude people, no parking, the blizzard, etc... by deciding to watch the Jets and put together some stunties! The Jets suck, this is a hobby blog, not a sports one and I'm glad, just know that I am a fan of both the Mets and the Jets (I don't hate the Yanks or Giants, in fact I like when all local teams do well, I just like the Jets and Mets more then the other two) and as of right now I hope that both of the teams are sold to different states so I have a legit excuse to hate them. Now I am off topic...
Back on point, I assembled 24 Warriors / Longbeards, a cannon, an organ gun, 12 Miners, 2 Thanes, 24(ish) Thunderers, 2 Bolt Throwers (painted them too), and a Gyrocopter (painted this as well); line them all up, take tons of fancy pics and... I lost my USB port for my digital camera... Probably under some bags of holiday %^*$ing cheer. To make matters worse I now (after I put all this stuff together and look at all the stuff I got from Mike) am questioning even keeping the little stunties... They would fetch a NICE price as I have tons of stuff, all that's listed above plus Hammerers, Ironbreakers, another cannon and bolt thrower, Thunderers, Warriors, Longbeards, Rune Lords / Priests, Thanes, Engineers, Quarrelers.....
I may have overextended, and if the Ogres are painted, why would I need the Dwarfs...? I'm leaning towards holding on to them, but I'm not sure if we will play enough for me to get good use out of them... It's going to be a hard call to make, but one I'm going to make after Christmas, I'll throw them on ebay while everyone has extra holiday cash... Maybe...

Back to Warhammer
As the title goes, I once again find myself playing the one hobby game that I have been since about 1998... Warhammer, both Fantasy and 40K have been played by myself and my friends since half of us have been friends, in fact, if it wasn't for Warhammer, I wouldn't know Wong (The Wasted Warrior), I would never have gone to Jon's Basement, and probably not have been as close friends with Mike (Project 1K), Ray (Blacker Templar), Jon and Wong...
Aside from the touching introduction above, I found my passion for Warhammer sparked by a very odd event, my cousin started playing this year, and got all of his friends into Warhammer as well; this on top of Warhammer Online, which got Mike, Jon, and Wong back on the ball seemed like a perfect time to get back in the game. Only problem, I didn't own an army...
That problem was soon fixed, and oh boy, it made the opposite a problem. See, we started playing at about age 14, we had no money, no credit cards, no jobs, etc... and we heavily relied on gifts, and other bits of random money just to buy a blister. Now, a full time employee at a large brokerage, I can buy armies at a time... So I did. ::cries::
I went to ebay and found cheap bits here and there and some large bulks of armies all for less than half of retail. Off ebay I won an Empire Army (I had bits of this too as it was my army from the late 90's - early 00's) and an Orc & Gobbo Army. I also picked up a huge High Elf lot from a kid who used to play and tons of Ogres via another friend for less than 1/4 of retail, all assembled and in decent painted condition.
So the problem began: What do I actually play, and there is a ton of models everywhere in my house... Solution, I have a great set of friends who were getting back into the game! I gave Drew the Orc lot, in exchange for $50, plus he must 'restore', touch up, and convert the Ogres to top standards (as I believe Wong is probably the best painter in our group - Ray is proably just as good, if not better but he is an EMT who attends school and slaves for 13+ hours a day working - and I don't want to bother him). Wong makes out good, I get what I need, plus Wong also agreed to help me with learning how to paint well myself, which is overall worth it to me. Next comes the High Elves, well, I liked them, but they simply weren't for me... I call up Mike, he comes over, plays them vs. my Ogres and he likes them a lot. He agrees to trade them off with me, what do I get, Dwarfs! One for One, an even deal, and I get back the only army I truly loved since we last played about 2 or 3 years ago.
Currently my situation with armies:
(1) Ogres - Painted to decent quality, Wong is perfecting, and finishing this up. They will be my main army and used in 100% of all matches until I finish my Dwarfs.
(2) Dwarfs - Just started collecting, thanks to Battle for Skull Pass, and a trade with Mike, all I'm missing is an Anvil of Doom and I will have a 2250 point ready to play. This army needs to be painted and will take some time to finish as I am not motivated to paint much and I currently have a painted Ogre army (let's hope the start of this site gets me motivated).
(3) Empire - God bless them, I thought Mike wanted these guys, so I loaded them all up, but he took the High Elves instead. This army will be put up for sale at a local GW or on ebay, either way, they are gone.
So, as you can see, it's not random which army I will use, it was just a challenge at first to find one that I liked enough to stay committed to.
As for 40K, the group is less 'enthused' about this because of some new rules (that and it's Fantasy Season now) but still I can't resist and as stated above I am unmotivated, so I will get a head start. My cousin told me he will start a Necron army, and Wong has a painted Eldar army. I picked up a ton of Ork Boyz, Nobz, Koptas, and 2 Warbosses from the new 40K starter Assault on Black Reach. So for about $45 + Tax (as I got 2 sets of Orks, while a Marine player at the store took both Marine sets), I have a good start to my Ork 40K army. I assembled one set so far, I will prime them soon and put pictures up once I do this.
As a footnote Wong also recruited a new player: Dingo aka Dominguez to play a Chaos Mortal Fantasy army. Let's just say, after 3 years of only playing Skirmish games, it's good to be back throwing countles models out to die in bulk.
